Struggle With Love Teaser!

I am startled awake by birds chirping around me. I blinked repeatedly, blinded by the sun. The porch swing I found myself on, floats in mid-air. The wind swung me softly back and forth, and I realized that I was once again in the middle of a dream.
A field full of color surrounded me. Neatly trimmed rose bushes discretely wound their way around the beautiful shade trees at the edge of this open arena. I jumped off the swing and landed gently onto perfectly cut grass the color of emerald. I allowed myself to relax into the scene before me, as I laid on the grass on my back and stared up into the bright blue sky. I let my mind create designs in the clouds and was instantly startled from my bliss by a voice.
"Are you enjoying what I have created for you, sweetheart?" Bristol asked. I shivered and turned to stare at the monster I loathed. His lips curled with a knowing smile. Seeing that smile should have terrified or angered me, but instead a warmth spread through my body. I watched him take a couple steps closer and then closed my eyes, hoping to mask my intrigue from him. "I can't ever get enough of watching you shine in the sun."
Butterflies bombarded my stomach by his words. Deep down I knew what I was feeling was wrong but I couldn't remember why. The swing wobbled as Bristol sat on the swing and patted the spot next to him. I stood up and immediately cursed my body for betraying me. I stared down at my hands as I sat down next to him. "Why am I here?"
Bristol caressed my cheek and I sighed. He then lifted my chin and stared into my eyes. "Would you rather be somewhere else?" He asked as he softly stroked my chin with his thumb.
I shook my head involuntarily as I stared into his dark eyes. I remembered the hate I once felt for these eyes, thinking they were dark and soulless, and now I could see that they were dark brown. I couldn't remember why I ever hated him. He was beautiful in his own way. His dark long hair was pulled back into a ponytail hanging down his back, high cheekbones made his smile stand out, along with his thin heart-shaped lips. Bristol leaned in towards me and softly placed those lips on mine. I sighed again and closed my eyes with pure joy that his kiss brought me. Behind my eyelids, a face with bright blue eyes and beautiful smile impressed itself into my mind. That vision took my breath away. I shook my head with an attempt to push it away. Every time I blinked those sparkling blue eyes stared back at me. Why was I having visions? Who was this man in my mind?

Dystopian

The world as I know it has changed. Everything I had been born into had vanished. People always said and suggested we would eventually be taken over, we just never thought it would be by our own kind. Speculations were always of little green men, but that wasn't the case. The government decided on it's own to implant themselves except one member. Governor Hodges Today, June 15, 2014 is the last day of our freedom. If I had known that before everything changed, I would've done so much more, said so much more to the people I care about. Maybe, if there had been some hint we would've been able to fight back, and none of this would've happened. But the what-ifs are no good, not anymore. We didn't know what was going to happen, we didn't have any time to prepare, and they are here. What made matters worse, was that these weren't random beings, but our own kind. We titled them as Humanoids. They were flesh, but a chip had been implanted in them to take away any sense of feeling. They didn't care what they did or what was being done to them. The army the government always hoped for. Willing members of society who didn't hesitate or second guess jumping on top of a live grenade, or shooting someone because they were told to. These 'people' don't ask questions when you tell them to jump they just do it. They are on a tight leash with a small group of government officials, I think it was more like a remote that they were being controlled with. Last I heard over one thousand people had been picked up and changed into a Humanoid. They said those people had made the decision to join on their own, yeah right. Who would choose this? Who would decide to get a chip placed into them and forgo your human emotions? The homeless, the ones who have lost their family, the government hopped at the opportunity to grab the ones who felt they had no purpose, and gave them a purpose- if you want to call it that.
Prologue

Lark

The last time I was here, this planet had less inhabitants. That was so long ago. I had been placed in an area filled with lush green grass. I remember walking barefoot across the lands and enjoying the feel of the soft grass beneath my feet. There have been many changes since then and I am uncertain if enjoy them. Earth is too crowded now. Everywhere I turn I find people or building, some form of vehicle, and miles of pollution. It saddens me. I also can feel the emotions of this planet and there is no peace as it use to be. I am overwhelmed by a numerous amount of different feelings. This place is plagued by anger and hatred for each other. My Father did not create this place for it to fall apart, and in such a short time.
I sigh. Now I must wear shoes, because there is no telling what I could step on. I have been made flesh for this current task. My wings are masked and unseen by the human eye. Not that the humans would even notice something like that, they are so caught up in their own small view of the world. I use to be excited about the humans. They were interesting as they continuously developed new ways to live. They were all smart and creative, and now there is only a select few. I do not mean to be so down on the human race, in fact I love them. I as an Angel was born to watch over them, and I have watched them fail time and time again. I have seen them hurt each other over simple items and even kill one another with no apparent reason except hatred. Parents abusing their children, and vice versa. I hope often that it will all stop however, it continues endlessly, and my heart breaks all over again. On top of everything else, my species is caught in the crossfire. Darkness has found its way from the burning pits of Hell and now travel the streets of Earth unseen. Angels once fought the Demons and expelled them from Earth. This all happened before the humans existed, and now we must do it once again. In between these battles we were known as gentle. My race use to bring happiness and joy to the hearts of each human, but now speaking of us only brings fear. I never believed it would become so dark for our species. I had many hopes that one day all differences between the species would unite. I hoped that they would not fear or hate each other, but I was naive and that hope has vanished. Now we fight against each other, never able to compromise or live amongst each other. Most Demons only wish to cause harm to Angels and to humans. I prayed to my Father that one day someone would come along and dis-spell the notion of evil. I wished that this being would understand that we aren't here to bring the end of the Earth, but help it last.
I know deep down humans will speak our names once again with peace in their hearts and the unity between all races will grow strong again. Humans, Demons, and Angels will one day be joined as one. It was written so long ago, that a war would be ended by one who is born of many races. A female who will bring forth unification among all. Her name was placed among the stars many years ago, she is our one true hope. Danielle was the name whispered to us throughout the clouds. Those of us who still believe, await her arrival to this day.
Although, I never assumed I would love her. I never visioned I would fall for her. She is the princess of the Angels and goddess of the Demons- grown and taught by humans. This one girl brought light to my darkness. I have hidden my feelings for so many years as a warrior of the Gods, and she brought the life back in me.

Addiction...a persistent, compulsive dependence on a behavior or substance. It has been proven that it is possible to be addicted to someone. Does anyone really believe that? The insistent need or want to be with someone fills every one of the senses, controls every thought. There is nothing else around, but that one soul.
Their smell fills the nostrils even when they aren't near. Sleeping doesn't even bring true rest, because the subconscious is consumed by them.
But what does it mean when the two people have never met? How can that even be possible? One random day a name pops into my head, a beautiful image shows itself into my mind, and a deep seeded need controls the beat of my heart. Brightness covered my normally darkened vision, and a pulse produced rapid steady beats to my typically undead heart. How a stranger could bring so many emotions to a non-human being, I will never understand. There was a light in her that I had never seen. Something so bright that it burned my insides, and yet I yearned for the pain. Call me a masochist, call me insane, I don't care what I'm called; all I knew was that I wanted her for my own.
The question I had for myself was: Did I only want to steal her light? Was I more concerned of the taste of her blood? Would the light make the blood sweeter? Or was she someone that could bring my lost soul to the surface? I had no answers. I only know that I became obsessed with this goddess. I wanted to bow down before her, kiss every inch of her body, and drink from her. I would beg for it all, which wasn't like me at all. I didn't care. I wanted her to be mine. Danielle, that was her name, and I knew right from the beginning that I would lay down life for her.
I have one million thoughts running through my head...that's right one million! Some are just starters, future ideas, and I a couple that I can write on. I have more starters than anything and it's driving me crazy. I just want to be able to sit and go and write...but I can't...Maybe it'll hit me soon...
I took a deep breath in. His own breath colliding with mine. It tickled my nose. How did we get into this position? How did he end up so close to me? Last I remembered we were standing awkwardly apart. We were staring off in different directions and I literally twirled my thumbs. Now, we were so close to each other. His body was flush against mine as he had me pinned against the wall. A few hours ago, I didn't even know I wanted him, but we had sat and talked. That was what lead us here. He could talk, he could open up, and he let me in. His eyes darkened as the tension grew between us. My chest heaved with anticipation. His words were intoxicating, his deep voice was sultry, and those eyes- oh god those eyes. I couldn't catch my breath. I wanted him. My heart sped up with the multiple thoughts running through my mind. His sweet breath caressed my ear, and that was when I realized he was laying his head on my shoulder in a hug. When was the last time someone had hugged me? I couldn't answer that. I expected more, but in this moment a hug was the most amazing thing I had felt in a long time. His arms wrapped around me and a deep sigh escaped his lips. He had shared so much with me and I could literally see his shoulders drop from the release. Thank you, was all he kept whispering in my ear. I wrapped one arm around him, bringing him closer to me. The other hand traveled to his hair, where I slowly began to glide my fingers through his dark strands. My fingers slid down to his temples, and then down his cheek. I felt wetness there and when he looked up at me I saw one single tear sliding down his cheek. He had been holding in so much. How could someone hold so much sadness and anger in them? He had never spoken these words to another soul and yet he told me everything in detail. I pulled his face up to mine, so that we were eye-to-eye, and smiled softly at him. In that moment everything transferred through us. Happiness for a new friend, joy to find someone to express ourselves to, and a fire I had never felt before. Our lips met slowly and softly. I was eager for more, but this was heaven in the moment. I never wanted this to stop. His lips slid down to my neck and low whimper escaped from my mouth. He chuckled softly and nuzzled deeper into the crook of my neck. One hand held my wrists above my head as the other felt its way around my body. My whimper turned to whine and from there I groaned loudly with hot desire. We turned and now his back was up against the brick wall and I could see muscles ripple from underneath his shirt. He yanked on the curls hanging down my back and tilted my head back and continued to seduce my neck. My body and I wanted more. I pulled him from the wall and made our way to the bed. A low deep husky growl vibrated through me as he realized where we were going. I didn't want this to stop. He had let me in and I wanted to do the same.

Deep inside me something is lost
Something is forgotten
There are moments when I remember
And then quickly they are gone.

There used to be a fire
Something to drive me
And now a mere flame sits
A simple glow arises.

I used to soar above the clouds
And now come to think of it
I haven't seen a blue sky in days
Where did it go?

I stand upright daily
I breathe in and out
I awake each morning
They say I'm alive, but am I living?

I'm Baaaaack: The reason why I was gone so long...

Hey all! I've been gone a while...I found out I was pregnant and have been missing ever since. It was a hectic ride! It started out so normal and easy and then gradually began to get harder. Aches and pains kicked in that wouldn't go away. A back pain that kept me up all night every night and there was no way to ease it, plus my hands, feet, ankles, and calves were extremely swollen. I mean I pushed my finger into any of those spots and you could leave craters in my skin! Soon after that at 33 weeks pregnant my blood pressure sky rocketed without me knowing. I called into the doctor to find some way to ease the stoooopid back pain and went in figuring that all they would tell me is that "Hey you're short and you have no torso deal with it." Which is true. But instead I walked in like any other visit and waited for my name to be called. When I walked in they weighed me like normal, except I had gained 5lbs or so in less than two weeks, which was not normal. Then they took me back to the room where they took my blood pressure like normal, only it was 190/110 and very scary high. So they made me lie on my side for about 20mins and came back to find that it was still high, not only that but for the first time there had been protein in my urine sample. All very bad signs. By that point I was nervous. The baby was fine except that his head was bigger than the rest of his body which was showing that he was not getting all the nutrients like he was suppose to because my body was shutting down. So after a sonogram, I get sent to the hospital...well pushed in a wheelchair to the hospital (which scared me even more...why didn't they want me to walk?) I was told that I would just be there for a couple hours for them to keep track of my blood pressure and would most likely be sent home on modified bed rest and to do a 24 hour urine test. But instead...my blood pressure wouldn't go down, and I ended up staying the night. Throughout the night I was woken up almost every hour to take medicine, to get checked, to get blood drawn, and at one point I was put on an IV of Magnesium. My blood pressure had become so high and wasn't going down that it was possible I could have seizures. By the next morning at 7am I was woken up by the doctor to let me know that I better call my husband to come to the hospital immediately because it was possible I would be delivering the baby that day. They kept track of my liver enzymes, my platelets, and blood pressure. By the mid afternoon I was told I WOULD be delivering that day. My blood pressure still wasn't going down, my platelets were dropping (which they were so low that the doctors were nervous about my blood not being able to clot of they didn't do an emergency C-section right then and there), and my liver enzymes for the first time had changed in the wrong direction. I was dropping fast. And everything flew by. Again I had gone in for something so simple and by the next day I was delivering my baby. My 33week old baby that didn't have a chance to get the 2 steroid shots to help his lungs, my baby that was about to have to be torn from his safe healthy home. All because I couldn't hold him in there anymore! I understand overall this isn't my fault, but when you hear the baby is healthy but its his home that is falling apart...I'm his home and I was falling apart! Because of me he had to come out. I had Preeclampsia at first which triggered into HELLP Syndrome, which I didn't find out until I was in recovery. HELLP Syndrome is a life threatening issue. Great! Not only did I have my baby ripped from me too quickly which was the most terrifying part...he might not have survived. But then on top of that I could've died as well. I can't really explain the emotions I have felt since then. I went home in 4 days but my baby stayed all alone in the NICU for 2 weeks. My wonderful mom drove me every day to visit for a few hours, to feed and be as much of a mom as I could be as my baby struggled and fought each to day to live. He is my little hero, and a true fighter. I look up to him even still for being as amazing as he is. We went through a lot together and both have healed and are recovering well! I always wondered if I would feel that crazy emotion that everyone talks about the first time you hear, see, and hold your baby. If we would bond and if I would be in love with him instantly. I worried I wouldn't have that motherly instinct and would falter in being what he needs. Especially with the way he was taken from me. But my fears were quickly forgotten when I was able to hear that first most adorable and strong cry from my angel! I fell in love instantly and couldn't believe how beautiful he sounded. It was 2 days before I was able to see him, which was torture that only people who have gone through this would understand. Everyone else was able to go in and see him, but I had to wait. I got to hear about how beautiful he was, how healthy he looked, and how special he was. Of course he is! But that didn't change the fact that I was stuck in bed for 2 days not being able to even catch a glimpse of the little human I had been bonding with for 8months. The little baby I had growing inside me. He was born at 4lbs 10oz, dropped down 4lbs 3oz, and when he left he was nearly 5lbs. He was born on 12/5 at 4:31pm and he was a wiggle worm from the very get go. He took out his own CPAP and stayed off of it and left in 2 weeks instead of the 6 they expected. He is now at home, a little over 8lbs, and my pride and joy. There again are no words to express my love for him, and no way I could ever express it. He makes me smile and makes me stronger. My heart has grown and I can't even remember what life was without him. No matter what we went through we survived, and fought to be together, and now we will be together forever!! I look forward to the future but am definitely enjoying having my baby!!

I don't understand...

Men and women. So different. One requires so much attention and affection and the other assumes it's implied. How do we even get along? Driving each other crazy with our needs and wants. Girls can't shut up and be done with it, guys can't understand past their own thoughts. Like how it doesn't make sense that once they say I Love You that anything else needs to be done. Females don't understand why guys have a hard time giving 100% affection.
We are so completely different.
I know even as writing this that there are ladies out there that are perfectly satisfied with the implied love, so obviously this leaves you out. Or guys that require jusr as much attention...and you have been excluded from this. These are just my thoughts as it pertains to me and my life.
I am needy. Require a lot of attention. My family is affectionate so that's what I've been around all my life. I need to be shown love to know that I am loved. I don't like the implied version. I want it thrown in my face and shown to me. Again I'm needy.
Can I see it the other way? Do I understand? To be honest...no I don't and I can't. My woman skull can't go past that. I just don't understand. Show me. Don't tell me. It follows the whole writing policy lol. When you write a novel you have to show not tell. I am like that. I don't know how to change how to fix it...I'm sorry.

Random post...brought to you by my wandering mind.

My Interview on The Lovely Books blog given by Jessica Ramirez :)

Interview with Tiffany Heiser author of Bonded with Love

Is a writer living in Fort Worth, Tx- with her Husband and two crazy dogs. She has been writing most of her life-short stories, and poetry. But she has always enjoyed reading young adult fiction and the amazing places it can take you. It has been her dream to one day be published. Her dream was accomplished with Bonded With Love as her debut novel.

1. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I was born on Fort Hood but raised in Granbury, Texas- a small town southwest of Fort Worth. I am an only child, but not a spoiled brat- well in my opinion. I recently got married in October of 2011 and it was the best day of my life. I absolutely love my husband, he is my best friend.

I have two dogs- a spazzy tan corgi and a very chilled black doxiepoo (half dachshund and half mini poodle).

I'm a coffee addict, but it seems that it comes with the territory of being an author :) I also love rainy days- it helps with the inspiration for writing but it also inspires lazy days :D

2. What do you do when you are not writing?
I love to read! So in my off time or when I'm not busy I will be reading. I love spending time with my puppies- taking them for walks or just cuddling with them.

My husband and I have a daily ritual of curling up on the couch and watching our fave TV shows after work and I look forward to that time to spend with him. I enjoy getting to go over to visit our families and having quality time with them. Oh and I'm a huge pro football fan- Cowboys fan actually...I know I know don't remind me how that season ended :(

3. Do you have a day job as well?
I do. I work full-time for a bank as a teller. I have been in the banking business for ten years. I enjoy it, but I Love writing more :)

4. When did you first start writing and when did you finish your first book?
I have been writing the majority of my life. When I was a young kid, I started writing poems. It helped me free any emotions that I didn't know how to express. I filled up a couple large notebooks of poems throughout the years.

5. When I was in middle school my vivid dreams put ideas in my head about exciting stories that could be written-of course then my writing needed a lot of help, but I knew one day I would write a full novel.

I finished Bonded With Love in April of 2011. That was one of the most exciting days of my life. To know that I had accomplished one of my major goals in life.

6. How did you choose the genre you write in?
I have always been into vampires and the paranormal. I would read R.L. Stine and Stephen King as a kid, but about four years ago I read the Twilight saga (twice) and found myself in love with reading books in a series (The majority of the full novels I write will be a series.). And absolutely adore paranormal romances even more after reading that series. So I tend to stick to that genre when reading and definitely will stay in that genre when I write.

7. Where do you get your ideas?
Dreams. I had a dream about Rena and the gang. I've recently had two more vivid dreams about two new series that I want to start on. My mind is wild with imagination especially while sleeping and most of my dreams I can remember colors and smells and noises so much that I can still remember each dream I've had about my books.

8. Do you ever experience writer’s block?
I haven't as of yet. I have moments when ideas aren't flowing through me, but then I move onto a different writing task and keep my mind focused on something.

9. Do you work with an outline, or just write?
Funny thing. When I first sat down knowing that I was going to write Bonded With Love, I grabbed a notebook and created my outline. Once I finished that I started writing. By the end of the first page my outline was no use anymore. Rena and the gang knew how they wanted their story to be told and it wasn't anywhere near where I thought it would go. ;)

10. Is there any particular author or book that influenced you in any way either growing up or as an adult?
Stephenie Meyer brought me back to my reading addiction. I had lost it thanks to high school and then college. But she reminded me how much fun reading is and thus brought back my imagination.

There are other authors who I look up to and they have also influenced me.

Richelle Mead, Melissa Marr, Rachel Caine.

11. Can you tell us about your challenges in getting your first book published?
There were a few. Querying was one. I would get responses back about the topic and genre I was writing in. The last one I received was from an agent that said that vampires had been blacklisted and my genre is too full.

With that comment it was as if she was telling me that it would be nearly impossible to get published. And so I decided in that moment that I would self-publish and prove to whoever and to myself that I could do this on my own. There are so many options nowadays that make the process-not easy- but possible. So I looked into self-pub, asked questions, and found my way.

12. Would you change anything?
Not at all. I have learned so much in the couple of years that I have been part of the writing, editing, and publishing world. My eyes have been opened wider and every part of it was bringing my dreams to life. It has been a dream come true.

13. How do you market your work?
I'm always on Twitter, Facebook, and Bookrix.

I love meeting new people and other writers like me! :)

Twitter has been amazing and given me the ability to not only get the word out there about my books but helped me make new friends.

Have you written a book you love that you have not been able to get published?
No, actually I haven't. Bonded was the first book that I wrote from beginning to end. I'm sure it'll happen eventually though.

14. Can you tell us about your upcoming book?
Right now my mind is on over-drive. I have four separate book ideas going on, but I'm currently working on Book 2 of the With Love series Struggled With Love due out in August/September. I don't really want to say much for those who haven't read the first one...except book 2 will definitely be crossing lines and boundaries -especially as Rena's powers blossom.

15. Is anything in your book based on real life experiences or purely all imagination?
The plot is purely imagination. However, the main characters are based on people I know. Friends or family. The friendship between Rena and Cecile reminds me at times, throughout the book, of my own friendship with my best friend.

16. What was your favorite chapter (or part) to write and why?
I enjoyed writing the beginning because I loved finding out who my characters were and how they would act. I loved learning their personalities that was exciting and made it easy to write.

But I also enjoyed the ending. Seeing how Rena had grown, how close her and Cryder had gotten, but especially the final scene between Rena and Bristol. The power that brewed in that scene pulled me in and I wrote that whole last chapter in a day because I couldn't put my pen down. It was a big strong part of the book.

17. How did you come up with the title?
I had help from friends. I knew I wanted something that I could continue with each book. So I knew I wanted it to be the With Love series, but I had many options for the first word of the title- one of my best friends came up with Bonded, and I fell in love with it instantly.

18. What project are you working on now?
I have multiple projects that have a small portion written- An angel series, a demigod series, and one new vampire book have been started.

But I am currently putting all of my focus on working on finishing the first draft of Book 2 of the With Love series Struggled With Love.

19. Will you have a new book coming out soon?
I should have 1 or 2 short stories out before summer as part of the With Love series.

And Book 2 will be out in August/September of 2012.
Are there certain characters you would like to go back to, or is there a theme or idea you’d love to work with?
I'd love to come up with a book about Wicca and witchcraft. It completely fascinates me...but the plot hasn't come to me yet. Maybe one day.

20. What has been the toughest criticism given to you as an author?
I've been told I wasn't ready, that I should have waited before I published the book. That I still had a lot to learn.

It's true, I have a lot to learn about everything in life-we all do. But to say I wasn't ready...I didn't feel that way at all. I felt very ready. When I received the response to my query about vampires being blacklisted and that paranormal romance was to full for someone new, it brought the need and want to be published to the service.

21. What has been the best compliment?
The best compliment to get is someone who hasn't read in years started reading again and it was thanks to my book.

Or friends of mine who have been trying to get published for years are inspired by the fact that I self-pubbed, and they decided to do the same for themselves.

One of my writer friends, James Hussel, actually just self-published his first novel this past week and I'm so excited for him!

Funny Story:

I received a phone call one day from my grandma that she had stayed in bed all day reading MY book and loved it- this is from a woman that hadn't read in probably over 10 years. And she spent an entire day reading mine and actually loved it-which made my year!

On a side note: She also told me I needed to get the new one out soon or she would have a heart attack. :/

22. Do you have any advice to give to aspiring writers?
Never give up. You can do absolutely anything you put your mind to. And if someone tells you that you can't, they're lying. Don't lose faith in yourself or your ability.

My fave quote:

"Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts."- Winston Churchill

23. Is there anything that you would like to say to your readers and fans?
Thank you for everything! Thank you for taking time out of your day to read my books! I adore you all and appreciate you for simply cracking open something I've written. I can't express how much that means to me and it's something that will never be forgotten.

...'till death do them part

My Review:
I enjoyed Bonded With Love and was a tad bit sad when the book ended. I grew accustomed to the whole gang, especially Cryder. And that name just sounds exotic and mysterious. I love it. Rena was a different story. I can't really say I liked her too much at the beginning of the story. There were times when she was rude for no apparent reason and I would find myself cringing because of it. But I guess I am being heartless. I can empathize to an extent with her because her parents had passed. I really can, I am not that rude! Do I like her now when I am all finished and done with the book? Well, I will say this, it can only go up from here. I see that she can make a strong Queen for the vamp community.

I like stories that involve the characters being in high school, don't ask me why, I just do. Rena and her friend, Cecile, are in high school when in walks the beautiful, mysterious guy that haunts her dreams. Cryder is sexy, there I said it. He is. I so want for a beautiful vampy guy to walk into my life and make it interesting! He is next in line to be King and Rena of course is his Queen, the one he has been waiting for his whole life. They had been betrothed when they were younger but they would not be able to meet until Rena became of age. Her own vampire soulmate. Soumates:) I like that idea!!

Every story must have a villian, in this case it is a guy named Bristol. Why couldn't they dispose of him? They had numerous amounts of time to do jus that but never did. Annoyed! I can't wait until he is taken care of. And by taken care of i mean killed! ha ha.

Tiffany's take on vampires was refreshing and creative. When Rena starts having dizzy spells, the only way she felt better was when she drank a fruity drink that Cryder gave her. Little did she know it had his blood in it. Um yuck or yum? To me it sounded good! And according to Rena, it was!

Reasons why I think anyone will love Bonded With Love. Because it had a twilighty feel of course. Twilight used to be my favorite book series until the movie came out. Blahhhhh! Now I can honestly say the books have lost that magical touch. So of course here I am looking for the emptiness I feel to losing love for my favorite book. I have found it! Through Bonded With Love, I can be happy, just like I was when I read Twilight. If Tiffany ever gets a movie deal, I hope they don't butcher it. And even if they did butcher it, I would still be there opening night:) Even though I hate the Twilight movies, I still go to every opening. I know it sounds crazy, but deep down I am still a true fan at heart.

If you are a big fan of vampires and paranormal romance in general, then this is your book. Why are you still sitting there reading the review? Go...NOW and buy it!!

Following a Dream

I often find myself looking into the future. What do I want to be when I grow up? Where do I want to be? How will I get there? What steps can I take to get there?
So many questions pop up and it took so long to finally figure out what I wanted to do with my life. The answer is simple, I wanted to be a published author. I wanted to get my book out there. Plus I needed something to clear my overactive mind.
That dream has been accomplished. I still have a lifetime of writing and getting out there to go, but something else has currently hit me.
How hard is it to get published? Yes you can do the indie way, like me and thousands of others, and make it as hard on yourself as possible. Or let someone help you.
I was tossed aside when I sent my query out to agents. Cast away and shunned for writing about vampires. But I believed in my writing enough to know that it could get out there and some people would enjoy it. Now I never expected the whole publishing part to be time consuming or exhausting, but it's all worth it.
Where I'm going with this, is that I want to help others to follow their dreams. I want to help others find their way. I want to help others get their books published.
And so that is my path. Author/Publisher. I want to be that company that reads all and finds a place for well written books. Or helps those that need it to make it into a reader's hands.
I start today.

My 5* Review for Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1)Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book didn't lack a thing. It was written to perfection. The style was absolutely unique and amazed me at every page. I couldn't put it down and had it read in less than two days. The descriptions were many, and yet not over-bearing like it would in most books. I found them to fit the book beautifully and brought the story to life in a whole new way.

I wish I could give more stars!

The main character grew so much throughout the novel and in the end had become a strong individual. That is something I look forward to in every novel. To see how the main character takes on the challenges and grows from beginning to end.

Each page and each chapter had something new and crazy happening and romance that you never expected to actually come into play.

The fact that the story starts in an asylum is already extremely different. You want to know why? How? For how long? What's wrong with the main character? It takes a little while to find out the answers, but it's worth it and very sad.

The differences in their world- you never know the date or time or where they are, but you know their Earth is different than ours and it sounds awful. That the main two characters are not only fighting for their lives against a dictatorship but against a falling apart society.

Tahereh Mafi knew what she was doing when this was written and I can't wait to read more from her.

My 4* review for Switched by Amanda Hocking

Switched (Trylle Trilogy, #1)Switched by Amanda Hocking

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was unique in the sense that I had never read anything about Trolls before. And once I found out that this author had created a whole world of them, I grabbed it off the shelf and bought it immediately. I had always thought of trolls as big ugly ones under a bridge.

It made me think of how Melissa Marr had created her whole new world of the fae in her books and I was completely enticed. I love when someone can create a community or government and bring you into it. You get the rules and regulations of something that sounds so real but is completely made up. The writing is traditional, and at times I felt like the book lacked an amount of action but found myself drawn in by the fact that They Are Trolls (or Trylle as they were called in the book).

Plus Trolls with powers which anything with a special power will grab my attention right off the bat.

Combine that with a possibility of a blossoming romance had me wanting to read until the end.

I am looking forward to the second book and hope that there is much more action to have me on the edge of my seat.

Now

You think I'm fragile as glass.
You push and poke, I may break.
I survived my past.
And I found my strength you cannot take.

I may seem weak at first glance.
A young girl and nothing more.
But the fight in me has only grown.
You cannot take away my power.

I sleep with ease even more than before.
My eyes close with grace.
Your ugly words do nothing to me.
Because now I can put you in your place.

You tore at me when I was young.
But that was then and this is now.
I dare you to try that again.
I would win and take my bow.

Your unstable like water.
Unable to stand on your own two feet.
You may be grown but you're not grown up.
And make you easy to defeat.

I use to be so scared of you.
Scared of what might happen.
I use to want to hide from you.
But now my claws are sharpened.

I won't

What I wish I could stop doing...
I wish that for one day I could stop judging myself. I wish I would stop putting myself down and look in the mirror and find the true me inside. I wish that I could put away every small detail and focus on the big picture at hand. I wish that I could see me for the accomplishments I have gained or the friendships I have made or even just the fact that I am loved should be enough. But it isn't. Each day I wake up look in the mirror and boom I judge. My body isn't perfect, my hair isn't right, my make-up isn't right, my toenails need to be fixed, my fingernails aren't right, my nose looks big, my mouth is too small, my eyes are too small, my eyebrows need to be plucked, I have a zit, my skin is dry/oily, my hair is dry, my hair is curly not straight, I need to lose weight, my butt is big, my stomach pokes out, my boobs sag, I'm short and my body expands the wrong way, my thighs are bulgy...and this goes on.
I'm never perfect for just being me. I'm always questioning myself and always putting myself down.
Do I need to lose weight? Hell yeah. But don't most people? All my life my mind has been focused on that one aspect of me. and even when I was at my smallest, I still put myself down.
How do you get out of that funk? How do you see inside and not just outside? I still don't have that answer, but I plan on finding it. I plan on searching high and low for the right response. I want to look in the mirror and see someone that has accomplished so much and should be proud of herself. Someone that has fought against the bad guys and won. Someone that has danced in the rain and laughed. Someone that is married to the most amazing man. That is talented. Smart. Funny. Witty.
Now there is a woman staring back at me...a woman that once use to be a scared little girl. She now can stand tall and face the world head on. Can say 'Hey I've been there done that and I'm ready for the next challenge.'
I'm working on it...baby steps...but I will be there soon enough. I won't back down, I won't give up. I didn't do it when I was young, I won't do it now.

My review of Tears of Crimoson by Michelle Hughes

Tears of Crimson
by Michelle Hughes

The story is a romance between human and vampire. The favorite kind of the vampire enthusiast.
A young girl trying to find her way finds herself in the path of a vampire who can't keep himself away from her, or vice versa. The emotion and love between the two characters happens quickly but pulls you in just as fast. You want the two to get together and you want it to last.
The action offers edge of your seat excitement. After the first few pages, I found myself intrigued to know what would happen next and how the book would end.
The quick point of view changes had me confused at times and grammatical problems caused me to re-read a few passages.
But I would still recommend this to the vampire story readers out there. This is Definitely an enjoyable visit to the Tears of Crimson.
I give this novel

Review DESTINED by P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast

Destined
Book #9 of the House of Night series
by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast

I have enjoyed the other books to this series. The characters are easy to enjoy. Zoey is easily loveable as well as her many other friends. And although the book seemed to jump Point of View numerous times throughout every story, I found it almost refreshing to be able to know what each character was feeling, however I hope that this doesn't continue throughout the next few books to come. That could become over-bearing and push aside the main character, Zoey Redbird.
The story itself was good and it kept me wanting to see what happened next. I wanted to see what crazy part of their world would we be thrown into next, but
I felt at times the book didn't really move forward. We relived the details from previous books in the series instead of getting new adventures.
And the ending fell short to me. I was hoping for something big and I felt let down. It seemed too easy and too basic for an ending, especially with a series that has been going on so long and still has a few more books to go. It should have been epic and making me stomp my foot and pouting for the next one. I will read till the very end, hoping to find that enjoyment that I found in the first few books and expect that this ending is only leading to something far too amazing to even mention in Destined! *fingers crossed*
With that said I still am looking forward to the next books in the series and can't wait to see how P.C. and Kristin Cast move this story along.
I give the book

More info on Broken Bond- *Free* for Kindle

Broken Bond is out and published! My first short story and I think it went fairly well! I look forward to hearing what people have to say about it.
Broken Bond is the prequel to my first novel Bonded With Love, it dives into the characters Byron Conti and Bristol DuPont. You learn more about the characters more about the past to see exactly how the break between the two characters started. In Bonded With Love you will learn that Cryder's and Drake's grandfather, Byron, had originally began a friendship with their newest enemy. That friendship started many years ago and ended quickly one night.
So this prequel will give you more information on how their relationship began and how it ended in line now the strong sense of revenge stays on Bristol.
I had a lot of fun writing this! Like I said I never written a short story and was kind of nervous that there would be too much information and I wouldn't be able to lessen it. I figured it would end up being another novel but I was able to get in the the details I wanted without letting it get too long. As I wrote Bonded With Love I knew there would be some extra short stories to the side. I had differing characters that I know will need their time in the spotlight.
Broken Bond is only the first of many short stories to come. But I hope you enjoy a sneak peak into the past.

where have you gone?

I loved you back then. Your smile and eyes took my breath away every time you watched me lovingly. Your laughter brought a smile to my face and I couldn't help but be happy when you're around.
But now you're gone. You left me behind. You said you would never leave me. I now have nothing to live for, nothing to laugh at, and no reason to breathe. I wish to die without you and I can't imagine anyone being able to convince me otherwise.
I had a dream about you last night. You looked as beautiful as ever. We cuddled underneath our favorite tree and we talked about life. It felt like old times as you intertwined your fingers in mine.
Then I awoke breathing deeply and you of course weren't there. I want to believe that the dream was the future not the past. That me seeing you meant I would see you again. But am I lying to myself? Perhaps. But I don't care. I want you back.
Do you know that when you touched me I felt like I was in Heaven? No one would be able to touch me like that. And when we kissed I never wanted to stop for air, I just wanted you as close to me as possible. But it had to end. It had to cease as all things do. And I wish to leave this world behind in hopes to find you. Are in Heaven? In the Otherworld? Or have you been reborn?
Either way I will find you. Trust me.
